Volvo Canada has divulged the pricing specifics for its forthcoming small, premium fully electric SUV, the 2025 Volvo EX30. Initially presented in Milan, Italy this past June, the EX30 will add a fourth model to Volvo's existing range of electric vehicles.
The EX30 will start at a price point of $53,700, placing it in direct competition with internal combustion engine-powered SUVs in the premium segment.
Aesthetic Choices
Volvo offers a palette of five exterior colors for the EX30: Moss Yellow, Cloud Blue, Vapour Grey, Crystal White, and Onyx Black. These shades range from playful to pure, catering to a variety of aesthetic preferences. Inside the vehicle, Volvo maintains its minimalistic Scandinavian design ethos, utilizing a blend of natural and recycled, leather-free materials. Buyers will have four unique interior design schemes—Mist, Pine, Indigo, and Breeze—to choose from. These interior designs are further complemented by five different ambient lighting themes inspired by Swedish landscapes.
Feature Overview
As expected from the brand, safety remains a priority. The EX30 is engineered with an array of safety technologies, including a standard Driver Alert System with Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Door Opening Alert, and Front & Rear Collision mitigation.
Eco-conscious customers will appreciate the EX30's low CO2 footprint. The vehicle aligns with Volvo's broader objectives, which include becoming a completely electric car manufacturer by 2030 and achieving carbon neutrality by 2040.
Google built-in capabilities come standard on the EX30, featuring native Google Maps and Google Assistant, along with wireless Apple CarPlay. For those opting for the Plus package level, additional features such as a Harman Kardon Premium Sound system, a panoramic roof, 19” wheels, and a dual-tone Onyx Black roof are included. The Ultra package further upgrades the experience with next-gen Pilot Assist, a 360-degree camera with 3D view, and Park Pilot Assist.
Notably, considering the Canadian climate, all EX30s will come with standard heated steering wheels and heated front seats.
Powertrain Options and Packages
Customers can choose between two electric powertrain options, geared towards diverse driving needs from city commutes to weekend adventures. The Single Motor Extended Range version will be available in three package levels: Core, Plus, and Ultra, priced at $53,700, $56,900, and $59,100, respectively. The Twin Motor Performance version, aimed at those desiring higher capabilities, comes in Plus and Ultra packages, priced at $59,900 and $62,100.
Canadians can start configuring and reserving their EX30s this fall, with the first deliveries slated for next summer. With its competitive pricing and feature set, the Volvo EX30 seems poised to make a significant impact in the Canadian electric vehicle market.
