The 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge is getting a significant price reduction this year, dropping from $64,950 to $59,950. You might think this means the XC40 Recharge is losing some features or that the new version will have less range, but it’s actually quite the opposite.
As a matter of fact, the 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge actually has more range than the 2021 model, with 359 kilometres of all-electric driving capability as opposed to 335 kilometres. This improvement is in part thanks to a new heat pump that can warm the cabin in winter, but ultimately Volvo engineers have reworked the engine programming to make the electric motors more efficient.
The great part is that if you own a 2021 Volvo XC40 Recharge, you can still benefit from the increase in range by updating their software free of charge.
The 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge is 100% electric and comes in three versions, Core, Plus, and Ultimate. The latter offers a Harman/Kardon sound system and Volvo Pilot Assist active safety and driver assistance. A panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, heated front and rear seats, heated steering wheel and dual-zone climate are either standard or available.
