The 2023 Volvo Recharge plug-in hybrid and fully electric vehicle lineup has undergone significant changes this year with improvements in battery capacity and range making the Volvo Recharge lineup even more enticing. Volvo is committed to being a leader in the field of electrification among luxury automakers. The Swedish manufacturer is one of the most ambitious when it comes to reducing emissions and giving consumers efficient luxury vehicles. Volvo offers an electrified version of every single model it has on sale including 3 luxury sport utility vehicles offered with either a plug-in hybrid engine or a fully electric powertrain.
Here we take a look at the 2023 Volvo Recharge sport utility vehicle lineup and the characteristics that come with each model.
2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge
The 2023 Volvo XC40 Recharge is definitely the highlight of the Recharge lineup at Volvo. The fully electric small SUV looks and drives like a traditional XC40 with the comfort and versatility owners expect from the entry-level Volvo SUV, but with the benefits of a fully electric motor. These benefits include remarkable performance thanks to the 402 horsepower delivered by the electric motors which is sent to all four wheels to ensure the highest level of traction in any weather.
The XC40 Recharge delivers remarkable accelerations thanks to its ample horsepower and torque, and thanks to improvements made last year, the Volvo XC40 Recharge now offers more range as well. The XC40 Recharge is powered by a 78-kWh battery pack that offers 358 km of range. This is more than what you would find in the Audi e-tron or Jaguar i-PACE, and it is also very easy to charge the XC40 which has DC fast charging capability.
2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge
The Volvo XC60 Recharge is powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain that was significantly enhanced back in April of this year. Thanks to a new, larger 18.8-kWh battery pack which replaces the outgoing 11.6-kWh battery, the XC60 Recharge saw its all-electric range capability increase by 27 km to reach an impressive 58 total kilometres. This maximum electric range represents an 87% increase over the previous XC60 Recharge, but more importantly and represents the difference between being able to use your XC60 without a single drop of fuel on your way to and from work, or just having the benefits of the battery occasionally. With the enhanced range, the XC60 Recharge can go further and fuel consumption is significantly improved.
2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge
The top-of-the-line Volvo XC90 Recharge offers 58 km of range like the XC60 Recharge. This is double the available range of the previous XC90 Recharge. When you pair that with an impressive 455 horsepower, you can see why the XC90 Recharge is so popular. Not only does it now give you enough range to do most of your daily commute without needing any fuel comment but it also provides better performance and impressive accelerations compared to the competition.
