The B5 and B6 engines introduce mild hybrid technologies to the lineup
For 2022, the T5 and T6 engines have been replaced by the B5 and B6 engines, bringing hybrid technology to every XC60 model. The B5 engine uses a state of the art four-cylinder 2.0-litre turbocharged engine complemented by a powerful 48-volt hybrid system.
The total combined output is rated at 247 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. The combined city/highway fuel consumption is better than with the outgoing model, with only 9.4 L/100 km.
Next, the B6 engine uses the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder but adds a supercharger. It develops 295 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. The combined fuel consumption is only 9.9 L/100 km with this engine.
The T8 powertrain delivers unrivalled performance
The range-topping T8 powertrain remains for 2022 and it delivers 400 horsepower in the Recharge model thanks advanced plug-in hybrid technologies. For those who want ultimate performance, the Polestar Engineering mode bumps the power up to 415 horsepower and adds a series of high performance features.
All engines are mated to a precisely calibrated 8-speed automatic transmission and Volvo’s extraordinarily capable AWD system.

For 2022, all XC60 models receive a state-of-the-art infotainment thanks to Google. This new Android-based interface offers a voice assistant, unlimited personalization options, and best-in-class navigation via Google Maps and more in-car apps via Google Play.
