The Advanced Air Cleaner available in some Volvo vehicles is certified Asthma and Allergy Friendly by Allergy Standards Limited, an independent organization that labels products that protect users from airborne contaminants. This is because the system is capable of removing 99.9% of the tree, grass, and weed pollen that is contained in the air by using a new type of synthetic filter instead of the paper elements used previously. This will be especially appreciated during spring and summer when your seasonal allergies can flare up.
Capable of stopping 97% of incoming viruses
In addition, new Volvo vehicles equipped with the Advanced Air Cleaner are capable of stopping up to 97% of harmful viruses from entering the vehicles through the air conditioning system. This ensures that you and your passengers are protected from airborne illnesses as long as you are in the vehicle. The strong ventilation of the cabin is also helpful since all of the air contained inside the vehicle is renewed rapidly, which helps get rid of 95% of the viruses that could have slipped through the door or a window.

By a process of ionization, the Advanced Air Cleaner available on many new Volvo models is capable of preventing 95% of PM 2.5 particles from reaching the drivers and passengers. By doing so, it allows you to breathe a cleaner air that is almost entirely devoid of contaminants that could be harmful to your health. This is not only a matter of health however since studies have shown that drivers who breathe fresh air are safer and more alert behind the wheel.
