The Volvo XC40 Recharge received some changes for 2022 that will make it more appealing than ever for people in the market for small electric SUVs.
A longer range
The 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge benefits from an increase in range, a major element when considering an electric vehicle. From 335 kilometers in 2021, the range increases by 24 kilometers to reach 359 kilometers. This increase allows you to go for longer periods without charging and it can make a road trip in your XC40 Recharge significantly quicker and more enjoyable. This increase is due to many factors, notably a new software tuning that allows for more efficient energy consumption and the addition of a heat pump to provide heating in the winter with a smaller range penalty than with regular heating. Something else that contributes to this increase is the addition of the Range Assistant app to the XC40 Recharge’s Google based infotainment system. This app can let you set timers that will preheat the cabin and the battery in order to maximise efficiency by using power from the charger rather than the vehicle to maintain the optimal temperatures for your comfort and for the battery to charge quicker.
More affordable
The 2022 Volvo XC40 Recharge saw its MSRP being cut by $5,000 by the addition of a new entry level version which keeps all of the features that you expect from a premium SUV. This model called Core is equipped with many characteristics that will make owning and driving it more enjoyable, such as the heated front seats, the wireless phone charger and the power tailgate. In addition, every model of the XC40 Recharge uses the new infotainment system from Google that features the Google voice assistant to help you access information with the sound of your voice. The other versions of the XC40 Recharge are the Plus, which adds the panoramic sunroof and the 360-degree cameras and the Ultimate, which adds everything else you might want from your vehicle.
