The 2023 Volvo XC60 received quite a few improvements over the last few years since the current generation was introduced. The Volvo XC60 shines with its stylish exterior and luxurious interior built with premium materials, but that is not the only area where the XC60 stands out. The Volvo luxury SUV also delivers multiple powertrain options including a plug-in hybrid powertrain that was significantly enhanced last year. Pair this with mild hybrid technology found in every XC60 powertrain option, and you get not just a very powerful luxury SUV, but also a very efficient one.
The Volvo XC60 doesn't stop at providing great efficiency. It also delivers advanced safety features and quite a bit of interior space. Let's take a closer look at why you should buy a 2023 Volvo XC60.
Impressive 2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge
The 2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge is the plug-in hybrid version of the XC60 family and since it's launched, it has been one of the most popular PHEV premium compact sport utility vehicles in Canada. Now, the 2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge delivers even more range thanks to a significantly enhanced electric powertrain. Earlier this year Volvo announced that the 2023 Volvo XC60 Recharge would feature a new 18.8-kWh battery. This new battery adds 29 km of range to the XC60 T8 Recharge which means you can drive 58 km on electric power alone.
Moreover, the performance of the XC60 Recharge also significantly improved. A more powerful rear electric motor now delivers 143 hp. When combined with the turbocharged and supercharged engine in the front, you get a combined 455 hp. That is more than what you find in just about any luxury plug-in hybrid SUV.
Remarkable efficiency in every engine
There are two other powertrain options in the 2023 Volvo XC60 and both offer remarkable efficiency thanks to the addition of a mild-hybrid system. The first is the B5 engine which is a turbocharged four-cylinder powertrain with 247 hp and 258 pound-feet of torque. This may be the entry level engine, but it's impressive torque numbers certainly allow it to shine by providing quick accelerations the second you touch the accelerator.
The 2023 Volvo XC60 is also offered with a new B6 powertrain. It uses a 2 L turbocharged and supercharged four-cylinder engine, but the power increases to 295 hp and an impressive 310 pound-feet of torque. This B6 engine delivers one of the highest performance ratings and horsepower numbers in its segment, guaranteeing exceptional performance in every situation.
Advanced safety
Like with every Volvo vehicle, you enjoy advanced safety in every 2023 Volvo XC60. The XC60 has a range of sensors, radars and cameras that will detect potential dangers and guarantee that if you don’t react, your Volvo will. Moreover, your Volvo can detect a range of dangers on the road, including large animals and prevent collisions. And if another vehicle should happen to appear in front of you, your XC60 has the ability to automatically swerve out of the way. Give us a call today to learn more!
